Heartwood Gifts BELIEVES very strongly in contributing its resources to help and benefit local and international community programs and charities. We provide financial support to existing charitable organizations that provide help to people in three main needs-based areas: Educational, Medical, and Spiritual.
To this end, Heartwood Gifts is Committed to supporting World Vision and Compassion International through their respective child Sponsorship programs. Both organizations are dedicated to releasing children from spiritual, physical, economic and social poverty and helping them reach their FULL potential, and become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.
Founded by Rev. Everett Swanson in 1952, Compassion began providing Korean war orphans with food, shelter, education and health care, as well as Christian training. Today, Compassion helps more than 800,000 children in more than 24 countries.
Likewise, Dr. Bob Pierce began World Vision to help children orphaned in the Korean War by providing long-term, ongoing care for children in crisis, World Vision developed its first child sponsorship program in Korea in 1953. Since that time, it has now made a DIFFERENCE for hundreds of thousands of children and their communities in over 100 countries.
