This handy leather notebook can be used for a first time journal, a log while site seeing during your travels or to record the memories of life's little adventures. All of Rustico's leather journals are built to last through day to day use or while on the road. Rustico uses only the finest top grain leather to ensure you receive the quality you are looking for.
As an artisan-crafted product, this item is made from raw top-grain cowhide, which has remained untouched before tanning. Any veins, scaring from wounds the animal sustained from other animals, or scratches from rubbing up against rocks, barbed wire, trees, or buildings will remain on the finished product. This is in contrast to the normal massed produced leather products common in commercial stores where there has been much processing to make the final product as smooth and unflawed as possible. So go ahead, handle it. Don't be afraid of a scuff. Lick your finger. Rub it off. The oils from your skin shape the patina over time. To keep it looking great, occasionally apply some leather conditioner and keep it out of the direct sunlight for long periods of time.

Real deal
Everything about the journal is a pleasure to the senses: looks and feels rugged yet high quality that will only improve over time with patina and as it absorbs not just thoughts and observations but the oils from my skin as well, and with the free name engraving the journal is set to become a valuable personal treasure; the leather smell is also lovely- it conjures an image of sipping fresh brewed coffee in crisp clean air while watching the mist rise off a mountain lake as the sun rises while wrapped in my boyfriend’s jacket.
